Browser and TCP/IP fingerprints
These are separate settings. The browser profile is used in your browser, while the TCP/IP profile is applied to a mobile or server proxy.
What the browser fingerprint does
The Browser fingerprint control generates JSON for a browser tool. It can include User-Agent, language, time zone, Canvas, and WebGL values. You apply that profile in your browser tool separately. Generating JSON does not change the proxy or its network fingerprint.
What the TCP/IP fingerprint does
The selected profile sets the OS signature of the proxy's outgoing TCP connections. It involves values such as TTL, MSS, and window scaling. It does not change your browser's User-Agent, Canvas, or WebGL. Availability for mobile and server proxies depends on the equipment.
OS presets are loaded from the current provider list. Native OS restores the proxy's original network signature.
This setting is unavailable in a regular customer free trial.
Apply to one or more proxies
- Open My proxies and select active mobile or server proxies.
- Choose Fingerprint and select an OS profile. Choose Native OS to restore the original values.
- Select Apply profile. The site reports each selected proxy separately, including skipped or unsupported connections.
- Wait up to one minute, then run diagnostics for each proxy. It shows the externally observed TCP values and the expected profile values.
“Profile saved” means the setting was recorded by the provider. Use diagnostics to check external behavior. If diagnostics times out, check again later; a diagnostic timeout does not require applying the profile again.
Diagnostics may show a cached result for 60 seconds. If it is marked as cached, wait and check again without applying the profile again.
If the connection degrades
Restore Native OS for the affected proxy. Some equipment and TCP parameter combinations can affect connectivity or speed. If the connection does not recover, contact support and identify the proxy without sending its username or password.
